Got 2 EGR Codes on 1.4TDI Fabia

Bought a 2008 1.4TDI Fabia 80Bhp and when I first got it ,it would often struggle to start and have white smoke come out the back, particularly if the nose of the car was on a gradient facing up and it twice wouldn't start without a lot of cranking. Took it for an engine & fuel injector carbon clean and the white smoke has stopped but I checked the fault codes and it still has 2 codes

P310300 Intake Flap motor faulty

P313000 Exhaust Gas Recirculation system control limit exceeded 

Car starts a lot better but still kind of splutters to life occasionally. Any idea what the course of action would be? I'd like to keep it factory original and not delete/deprogramme the EGR system if possible. It also shows two Aircon fault codes 65535 ctrl module faulty and 00819 high pressure sensor but the Aircon still works if not that cold though so I doubt it's related. Other than that no other fault codes. Any help would be much appreciated!
