Upgrading from 16GB to 32GB sat nav SD Card - anyone done this?

Featured Replies

I'm still waiting on a solution from Skoda regarding the corrupt ECE 1 map files (see thread:

However, I've always fancied the idea of upgrading from a 16GB to a 32GB SD card to allow me to install the ECE A1 maps (pan-Europe). Does anyone have experience of a reputable source of a 32GB card? I know I can't just buy any old SD card, it has to be a Skoda one.

I imagine the dealers charge a silly price, right?

Yeah I've never bought anything from that site before and suspect most things on there are cheap knock offs.

I see some cards on Ebay, which as a website I trust more since they have a returns process that favours buyers, but again not sure I'd be getting the real deal.

Then there are some bespoke sat nav card websites - would be interested to know if anyone has bought off of these.

I understand you can't just buy a blank card and 'make' your own?

I've used eBay without issue for 32gb cards 👍

It needs to have the correct CID (like a serial number) on the SD card so a generic one won't work.

I tried purchasing a 32gb card from Ali last year, card never arrived and had quite a lot of trouble getting a refund - eventually got a transaction reversal from Amex - Ali customer support was non-existent!
