Ohme charger, Enyaq 85 and My Skoda app

Featured Replies

Please, please can anyone help? Has anyone managed to successfully pair the Ohme charger with your Enyaq and if so, which one controls the charging? I’ve tried everything and it just won’t work. I can plug the car in and it starts charging (usually jumping to 100%) unless I reset it every time, but Ohme keeps going offline, doesn’t do what it’s told and I can’t find a way of scheduling the charge times.
any advice gratefully received.

I do find it strange that there is seemingly no answer from the two bodies that between them, ought to know.
It’s such a pain having to fight for basic answers to what must surely be common problems.
If it gets solved here, I’ll post the solution.

That would be great even when you don’t pair the ŠKODA there’s the option just to switch car and Change but the app on Ohme shows as 0% battery power even though I have just over 65%

Thankfully I am with octopus Energy paired through Ohme with my Tariff so my charger will only start at 11:30 pm when the cheap rate starts and stop at 5:30am when it stop's

I had a simialr problem when I had the Ohme app on 2 phones! It got very confused.
The app works and the Enyaq system worked - but not together.

The charger does seem to need a good internet connection.

My Enyaq 12v system failed after 2000 miles and its been in the dealership for the past 12 weeks - so I am forgetting!
But my rental (thank you Skoda warranty) is a Ford Mustang Mach-E - which doesn't really let you change the charge settings. It works fine with the Ohme charger.....so the charger isn't the problem!

(The Ford, by the way, is excellent and range is well over 300miles - I think Ford spent more money on it than VAG did!...and it has an interior ambient noise feature that can be selected - a V8 rumble that satisfies my petrolhead tendencies. I have done 3000 miles in this so far.)

Despite its over-complicated charging, I do miss the Enyaq though, its lighter to drive and mine has a sunroof.
Is the new app working any better?

My Ohme charger has switched to German, so I haven't a clue what I am doing on it now!

That’s interesting regarding Ohme. Mine often reports it’s lost its connection but we have great signal here.
I’m moving to Octopus too as from Monday so will be interesting to see how that works out.
I also find it irritating that I can’t set the charging schedule to start at an hour that I decide.
we were told to get Ohme as it worked well with Skoda but as it can’t connect to my car’s data, it’s actually a bit useless.

I am guessing that maybe the Octopus tarrif schedule is interfering. The charger will try to charge to the set %age level in the time available, depending on how much is left in the battery - if there isn't enough time in schedule to reach the desired charge level, then I think it normally continues.....unless the Octopus pricing tarrif maybe restricts it?

No I don’t think that’s the problem as there’s no problems with my wife’s VW iD3 it shows all the correct info on Ohme

Plus when the iD3 is connected the Ohme  app and charger picks up the battery % and advise on the charge time is supplied

Now when I switch the car to the Enyaq Ohme app and charger advise that I have an empty 0% charge in the battery and it will only be able to add 64% during the 6 hour period

Found this on the Ohme site so I believe the fault is with the Ohme not the ŠKODA IMG_0392.thumb.png.363d20724be00962130a311edf1055be.png

I have the same problem. Glad I found this as I can give up now 😊

  • 6 months later...

I got my Kodiaq Plugin Hybrid in March and installed the OHME charger without installing the OHME app, the Skoda app or the Octopus app. I was charging the car with no issues at all. A month later, I swapped from Octopus Standard Rate to EV Tariff Intelligent, and set up OHME app by scanning the QR code on the charger, connected it to the car and installed Octopus app and set it up. All this within one day. From this point on, OHME charger started tripping, I called my installer and he checked everything over and changed the box with the fuse on just in case there was a problem with it. That stopped it tripping but the car would not charge anymore. Also, I tried to charge the car with a completely different charger at work and it does not work. I have also installed Skoda app as dealership asked me to do.

So from the point of moving to Octopus EV tariff and installing apps, I could not charge anymore.
I logged the issue with OHME charger support and Octopus support and they came back to me asking random questions and telling me to do a few things, which made no difference.
I went to Skoda dealership this morning and we made sure that there is no problem with the cable. I made an appointment for the car to be looked at in a few days.
It seems that nobody in OHME, Octopus or Skoda have any idea what is going on...
