Tweaking VCDS options

Featured Replies

Has anyone found or tried changing MK4 options via VCDS?

The lane assist warnings are mental, it keeps nagging me to twitch the steering wheel to make sure i'm still driving. On a longer country drive it's just like arguing with a stubborn toddler.

I'd like to bring down the harassment level from the factory level to somewhere manageable, where i can actually concentrate on driving instead of constantly being warned to twitch the steering wheel or it will start beeping at me.

Currently  on the country roads i have to drive with a offset from the center so there is constant pressure against the lane assist, that somewhat helps the system to understand that i'm still present and holding the wheel. Or are there menu options should i select besides disabling it to stop it from warning me all the time?

I asked the dealer if they knew about any of the options. I was told that changing anything is basically impossible because the car is in full contact with the factory servers all the time, when anything is changed the car will report it and it will become flagged in the system. Once flagged they will be required to do a full reset of the car to clear the flag during a next service. At least it does not happen automatically over the air, at least they did not mention this possibility.

That’s very

concerning! It appears they are monitoring the car’s performance, including ours, even though we unchecked the relevant option in the car’s settings. Additionally, if someone chooses to remap the car, the servers can detect the changes and potentially reset them to factory settings during the next visit to the dealership or garage. This raises significant concerns regarding privacy and autonomy.
