Air con 'condensing' noise in dash

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My air con stopped working about 3 months ago, it basically lost its 'cold' feel and i had it re gassed at stoke's skoda garage. For the past month its worked really great, but now there is a major noise coming from the dash board and no it ceases to function.

The air coming out is not cold and is just warm when the air con is initiated, but as soon as it starts a noise from the 2 middle air vents on my dash starts, its like a 'condensing' noise like a fridge, or if you spray some gas out of a can and listen to the can afterwards :S (sorry for my explanation) If i press my 'recycle' air button it gets louder. The noise also carrys on after i have switched the car's ignition off.

I have tried turning the igniotion on and off to see if this rectifys the problem but it doesnt, any thoughts guys? I go on holiday to greece in 2 days, so will take ti back to the garage after i come back.

Any thoughts mostly appreciated :)

I would wonder if there are any fault codes to start with.

I had two Volvos that made the same sound when the air was on. They both had condenser/evaporator problems (leaks) and seemed to make the sound increasingly proportionate to the loss of pressure.
