Hi new to the site so don't know if this has been covered , I've started rebuilding my mk1 octavia vrs estate back up nut and bolt job but hit a snag

When doing the steering knuckle bearings and hubs after assembly should there be any play in the hub will this be taken up when retached to the driveshaft ??

Hello Mat, welcome to the forum.

Is this 'play' in the hub bearings themselves? Are you sure the bearings are the correct ones for your hubs?

Are the hub bearings the Taper Roller type - and if so, is there a spacer fitted between inner and outer bearing races on the Mk 1 front hubs?

I got the hub and bearings together I pressed the bearings into the knuckle I did notice half way in the bearing case there was a gap I put the big clip on the outer then pressed the hub in , got a feeling I've missed something,  don't know if that helps
