Key Fob /KESSY issue??

Featured Replies

Hi All

Got an issue with both key fobs, pressing the buttons doesn't lock/unlock the car (red light on fob showing when buttons pressed)

However, the car unlocks/locks when I use the handles to unlock/lock and then the buttons on the fob work for a while....

Anyone else had this problem? VRS 2021 model

Replace the batteries in the key fobs.

No, I didn't still an issue - Skoda want £100 just to investigate it...

From the manual:

The vehicle cannot be unlocked or locked with the
remote control
There may be the following reasons:
▶ The battery in the key is empty.
› Replace the battery » page 23.
▶ The key is not synchronized.
Synchronize the key as follows:
› Press any button on the key.
› Unlock the door within 1 minute with the key via
the locking cylinder » page 25.
If necessary, the key must be synchronized if a
favoured button on the key has been repeatedly
pressed outside

Thanks for this, but the issue remains for me too

I had a scan done yesterday to see if any obvious error codes appeared, alas no luck, still got the same issue - have you had any luck @Zheka79?

The wet weather seems to play havoc with the KESSY system I find. I'm able to unlock my car without issue but can only lock it using the fob when the weather's really wet, which unfortunately for me it is a lot where I live.

There's a thread on here somewhere about it which explains it in detail and also links to a fix, but it's not an easy fix by any stretch of the imagination. It's involves disassembling the door handles and altering them internally.

Not something I'm willing to get involved with personally, the fact the video guide is in a foreign language didn't really fill me with confidence if I'm being honest. But it's here on the forum if you want to take a look at it, do a search for KESSY and it should crop up 👍🏼

@scotthugh3s, May I jump in the discussion with the link to the thread:

Bear in mind that is not my guide, I found it a while ago when I was looking for a solution to this problem because my car is also suffering sometimes in wet weather.

Thanks for this, however the KESSY function works fine, it's the buttons on the fob that don't work until I've unlocked the car using the KESSY entry method.
