Loud noise while sat in car

Featured Replies

Hello everyone I'm new around these parts and hoping someone could help.

I have a 2011 fabia 1.2 tsi which has developed a loud deep rumble sound, sounds just like when you get a hole in your exhaust. Only thing is can hear it from sat in the car but doesn't sound the same when you get out 😕. Garage hasn't found it so it's a bit of a head scratcher.

Many thanks for any ideas people can think off or had the same.

Some questions to try to narrow the problem down a bit:

1) is the noise present when the car is not moving?

2) does the noise var with road speed?

3) does the noise vary with engine speed?

4) is the noise present at all times or does it come & go?

The sound is when not moving and is their while driving just gets a bit louder sorry not much help is all the time, just sounds a bit like heavy duty plastic vibrating on something but can't see or feel anything 😕

Check the full length of the exhaust to make sure it is clear of the body, ideally with someone of similar weight to yourself sitting in the driver's seat.
