Hello,

I was driving yesterday night on the road with no light and I have activate the automatic high beam and after 60km/h has gone on but when I have encountered another vehicle from another side the high beam has not changed to low beam and I had to intervein for safety. I have check on VCDS and every thing was ok, no fault code nothing. 

In the past I have try' d to activate the traffic sign recognition but without any success. The reason way I tray is because I have seen that bellow the mirror is installed an camera.

After that I have seen that is not working and I can not connect to A5 block I have reversed the coding' s done until then but I am afraid that maybe I forgot to do something.

Maybe some of you guys has any idea way is doing ( or not doing ) how suppose to do?

There are 2 different cameras fitted depending on specification (high spec which is at address A5, or low spec which is at address 20) - do you have a camera at address 20?

I think it is, I do have access on this Block and I can do coding or adaptation, on the other hand on A5 I can not go in, it means that I have an low spec camera?

I have get an adapt map from Block20 maybe is helpful

You need to use the correct coding & adaptation changes for the 20 camera that is fitted to your vehicle NOT the coding & adaptation changes that only apply to the A5 camera that you don't have!

 

The changes needed for the 20 camera can be found in the sticky posts in this forum, I know they work because I did them on my previous Octavia Elegance which had a 20 camera.

I have found something but not for channel 20 that is ok for me I have fond for A5 channel.

A lowline camera at address 20 cannot support TSR or lane assist. I would suggest checking your coding log to ensure you've reverted all the changes correctly.

 

If you still have issues, update your VCDS to the latest edition: https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/current.php

 

Then post a full autoscan, the coding log and adaption maps from 09, 20 and 5F

I am trying to make the high beam working right because is acting strange. The main think is because is not going on low beam when is light outside ( from street illumination ), or when an car is coming from other side, or when I am encounter an car in front. I need to intervene to put manual on low beam, although when I go below set point of speed the high beam changes on low beam.  

I will try to get the adaption maps from block's mentioned, but I do not know if i will can get also the coding's.

I just get the data blocks and the adaptation block from 5F, 20 and 09.

I hope I done' it right. 🙂

If it did then as it's the English version of VCDS then 100% it's a clone.

Not unless you can work it out yourself, as we won't support VCDS clones.

In my experience the beam assist feature is far from perfect.  It works pretty much flawlessly through the summer months, but in the winter I do seem to have issues with it.  I suspect, but never proved, the cold weather is causing condensation on the inside of the windscreen, and although I have a heated screen, it takes a while for the minimal amount of condensation in the sensor area (behind the driver's mirror) to also clear.  When the gremlins strike I frequently find the car stays on main beam despite something coming the other way, necessitating my manual intervention to dip the headlights.  Conversely, driving on a totally dark Cheshire road, the lights will be very slow to put main beam on when required.

 

The feature I find most annoying though is something in the auto beam function which has trouble identifying the rear of a car, specifically when I'm queued right up behind them.  There seems to be something with the high vis and reflective patterns on the back of traffic police Volvos which the system just doesn't like.  Lost count of the number of times I've suddenly gone to main beam right behind a very surprised traffic officer!
