Cai...?

Featured Replies

What's your thoughts. i'm not sure i like the idea of the long kits that put the filter behind the bumper (opposite the intercooler) incase of water ingress. Just putting a cone filter on the end of a bit of silicone tubing kind of defeats the object of COLD air intake.

Jabba's kit seems a good option but i can't see me paying that much for a kit if i can help it.

Any thoughts appreciated.

What sort do you have....?

I have recently tired one of the CAI's that end up with the filter behind your bumper and one of the reasons i removed it was because of the filter location, i just thought it was a nightmare for removeing and re-oiing and then re-fitting.

I would love to try one of the Jabba ones but they are a lot of cash, too much for my wallet.

I did get thinking though as to how hard it would be to make our own heat shield type device and then buy a cone filter, this would then be a very similar set up to the Jabba one.

I could probably get the metal heatshield manufatured at work if we knew the dimensions of it.

I don't like the thought of low level kits either; one of my mates hit a sheet of standing water about an inch deep, and totally hydrauliced then engine in his dad's almost brand new Sierra RS4x4!
