Poor radio reception again!

Featured Replies

Hi, just bought a 2016 citigo, very poor radio reception so found this forum and replaced aerial - no better, fitted new aerial base, reception is fine -until you start the car and it’s terrible again- with and without the satnav unit fitted, switch off - fine again. Any clues or suggestions please.

This is a first to me, but sounds like it could be an ignition suppression issue (petrol engine only).

That was my initial thought but assume it has individual coils on plugs like the Polo we’ve just sold, and no HT leads to speak of, I’ll start with new plugs.

Changed the plugs this morning, radio now fine! Car has done 64k and the plugs look like they’re the originals, marked as VAG, huge gaps and well worn electrodes 🫣 Thanks for the pointer.
