Problems with central locking - doors will lock but not unlock

Featured Replies

Hello guys, I ve recently noticed that for some reason, my 05 Octy pre-fl won’t unlock using the button on the remote. Now, i have a few a info to share that might help you

1. i’m not sure if the central lock is oem or it was installed by the prev owner as i have a blue led right next to my ESP button that s flashing when the car is locked, although i have the original skoda key with the remote, not an aftermarket one for the central locking

2. as i said, i have that blue led that s flashing when the car is locked. if i lock the car using the remote, that led starts to flash, but when i unlock the car using the remote, the blue light stops flashing, as it should, but the doors are still locked and when i press on the lock button again, the led will start flashing and the sidelights will flash just as normal, thing which is not doing on the unlock part.

3. when i m inside the car and try to lock/unlock the car from the remote, it locks just fine, but when i press the unlock button, i can hear like a click click noise, led light stops flashing and the doors are still locked unless i turn on the ignition

i already tried to turn the key to position 1 in the ignition and press the unlock button, which worked, the remote worked for like a day after that and then went back to not unlocking the car and the ignition thing does not work anymore

i have also tried a new battery, still the same issue

any help/advices are more than welcome as i don t know what to do anymore

Do you get door open icons on the dash? With your after market system you may not.

If you see icons on the dash when you open the boot, bonnet rear side doors and front passenger door but not for the drivers door, I would suspect the drivers door control unit or, much more likely, a broken wire in the wire harness that runs in the flexible hose from the door aperture to the drivers door.

Pull the hose from the body and check the wires inside.
