Octavia MK1 VRS 1.8

Featured Replies

Evening to all on here.

I currently drive 2017 Facelift Yeti that as Daily car provided by my work. Love It.  One of best All round Cars I have ever had, Fully Loaded (and I've Had some nice cars in my time)

But that's not why I posting:

I am now considering buying a VRS Octavia Mk1 , as a 'weekend car' - that probably as an very over estimate will do about 3000m per year only.  Because I don't have much to spend and it's not a NEED vehicle - but a WISH/WOULD LIKE car - I am only interested in a MK1 shape VRS as I think it looks better than the Mk2 anyway - smaller and less looking like Other Cars when they all start to look samey in mid 2000's.  😊

Anyway, my ACTUAL Question to those here who might know is about what Bigger wheels from maybe Other VAG group vehicles would fit the MK1 Octavia VRS?   As I said, it's a Want Car for occasional use, so would like to look good, with 17" wheels at least, or maybe 18" if possible, and if can source from VW or Audi cars might be easier?????

Does anybody now what else fit's straight on without any hassle to set up?

Many Thanks for reading, and Kind Regards in Advance

👍

Mk1 Octavia PCD for wheels is different to Mk2 on.

Mk1 is 5 x100. It is the same as Mk4 Golfs and Mk1 TTs (and Audis of same age I think).

Mk2 is 5 x 112 and will not fit a Mk1.

17" (I think 6.5x17) would be normal on a UK vRS.

To be pedantic  17" "Spider" wheels are fitted to the Mk1 VRs hatch.

16" wheels are fitted to MK1 VRs estate.

This is according to a Skoda brochure from September 2003.

Correct.

The Octavia vRS looks best with the 17" Spiders wheels.

Thank You all for your feedback, I will investigate further as the Mk1 is a Hatch Version and seems to have 16inch Wheels 🙃  Not Bought yet....

Well, 16x6.5 with 205 width tyres would fit, but would normally be an estate rather than a hatch.

My apologies, further investigation.............. the Car is fitted with 17's - so 1 Box Ticked  😅  Still thinking about it.  I guess if I do buy it, I will then think about 18's, maybe...... probably not 🤣

Thanks to all for the advice on the wheels and sorry for original bum steer.

Cheers

I think 18" will unbalance the ride personally, as it will certainly make it harsher.

Hi Dean

I think you probably right.  Might have got away with 20 years ago - but state of roads now, i guess i should think about that  😆
