Aircon System

Hello all,

My Superb is 12+ years old and it appears to show.

About a week ago my aircon system (climatcontrol) stopped working. The compressor doesn't kick in!

The garage investigated that gas pressure is sufficient and compressor is OK. The failure is in the "climatcontrol box" under the dashboard!

It has to be replaced and is a costly business, GBP 1000+! I am 82 years old and just spending thousends on my teeth! Havn't got 1000+ for the car!

Question: Is it possible to bypass the climatcontrol system and to modify the control(s) to permit ON/OFF control of the compressor?

Has anybody had similar or same problems with the aircon system on the Superb and how did it pan out?
