Car randomly locks whenever it likes

Featured Replies

Hi, my car locks whenever it likes; when it's in a car park and I've locked it already, when I'm driving, when I've just got out of it and shut the door, when I go from door to door to get things out...  Sometimes I come back to my car and press unlock on the keyfob and it immediately locks itself again and it can take me and my passengers several attempts to all get in the car as it just keeps doing it!  There is absolutely no pattern to it at all.  I've tried turning auto lock off, I've replaced the batteries in both key fobs, I've tried everything.  The garage can't find a fault code for it.  Some days it won't do it, some days it will do it once or twice, other days it sits there having an absolute locking party - locks going, lights flashing!  Of course it never does it at the garage...  I've seen on some of the threads that this seems to have happened to other people on various models (although only once or twice from the posts I've read).  Has anyone actually found a solution!?  This is a Karoq.

There is a Recall Action  / campaign on various Skoda vehicles which is a software update. Apparently to stop keys being locked in the car.  Check with a Dealership and see if your car is part of that.  If so and your car is in, maybe you will not get charged £115 or more for a diagnostic on the fault you have.

Thank you, I'll give them a call.
