Hi, I've just bought an 2014 Octavia Mk3.

Fairly basic model, very few bells and whistles, but a clean car and drives very smoothly.

Because of the internal security system, the interior light switch does not have an auto position ie when you unlock the car the interior lights come on. Or when you switch the engine off, the interior lights come on.

I have managed to get this working once, more by luck than judgement by pushing the main lights dial in. But I pressed it again and gone.

The interior lights do work when switched on, just not when I unlock car, switch engine off etc.

Not sure if it is a switch, or am I am doing something wrong?

Check the settings in the radio. There’s lighting settings in there, might be something turned off?

You're doing nothing wrong. They should go on when unlocking, off when starting the engine, on when switching off the engine and removing the key and off when locking.

There are some threads about the lights. A common cause for faults seems to be corrosion or similar on the circuit board in the front interior light fitting.

I've never noticed any interior light settings in the options.

The switch only has three positions. Off, (including the rear interior light), door operated and manually turned on.
