Front Assist: sensor impaired

Featured Replies

HI all,

I just took ownership of my Scala today (22 plate) and I really like it..   Later on I plugged in a obdeleven to do a scan for errors. It didn't find any but shortly after I noticed this error come up with the /!\ on the dashboard. Front Assist: sensor impaired

I read online and gave the sensor a clean but it was already spotless. I am not sure what to do. I don't think it was the obdeleven device but i cannot rule anything out right now.

I'd be looking to see if the error was still there tomorrow and if it was, I'd be phoning the seller on Monday.

So quick update. I plugged in my  odbeleven device and got it to scan for errors. It found this one and so I "cleared" it... that worked and the error no longer appears on the car.

At the same time I also sat my car 120cm away from a flat piece of surface to allow it to re-calibrate. I guess that may have helped?

I cycled the car through a few re-iginitions and the problem didn't come back.  Fingers crossed!

This sometimes happens on my 23 plate SE in fine rain, mist or spray. Always clears itself when conditions improve. Dealer confirmed that this was normal.
