Fabia 1.4mpi thermostat leak

Featured Replies

Hello all!

My brother in law has a low mileage 1.4mpi which has a small coolant leak coming from the thermostat housing, through a hole on the face of it. Looking at replacements and none of them have this hole, so I'm wondering why it's on the original, and also why it's leaking from here? I'm assuming it's some form of pressure relief, or just old and knackered?

Any info would be greatly appreciated 😁

Thank you!

Mine has just developed the same issue, however, I fitted a new thermostat and housing 2 weeks ago. I never had any leakage with the original, was just running cold. I will remove and compare with the original as i suspect it is just a cheap poor quality part.

I assume that you replaced yours in the end, did this fix the issue or was there another cause?
