Oil consumption

Featured Replies

Hello,

Is it natural for a car with 190,000 km to consume ~ 3,000 km/0.5 L of oil? Or is there a problem with this engine type? No smoke, no leaks anywhere!

There was also an oil change, control, valve cover and oil filter housing replacement.

Do you have any ideas, or should I get rid of the car now?

 Skoda Octavia 3, 2014, 2.0 diesel, CKFC.

Sound pretty good if it just uses 1 litre of oil every 6,000 km / 3,700 miles.

Some might use less and others much more including new cars with less km on them.

So that's not bad yet? don't worry Where can this oil go then, won't it ruin something?

It will be getting burned along with the Diesel Oil the car runs on if it is not leaking out and not blowing out the tail pipe still as oil.

Can it be deposited in a particle filter? or egr valve?

Yes.

Yes.

basically, to remedy the oil consumption, would only engine disassembly help?

You really are not using excessive oil.

Do you do lots of shorter trips with cold starts?
