Infotainment System Help Please

Featured Replies

Hi All.

I picked up my 2015 MK3 Skoda Superb from the Skoda Dealers the day before yesterday and she is beautiful, at the age of 70 it will probably be my last car. so its easy enough to work out everything except the Infotainment Columbus System, most of it is working but I think I have a problem and I am asking if any of you guys can please help me.

1)  I use a Samsung S20 Ultra Phone so its a modern smartphone, and its paired up with the car system no problem, it even auto pairs when i get into the car, but this is where the problem starts. my phone is on the passenger seat, and the engine is running and I am parked on the drive, i click on the unit "Phone" and it brings up my favourite contacts, I phone my missus who is in the house,  the unit connects to her phone and dials, her phone rings and she answers, I hear her say hello, but she cannot hear me, I look at the message screen between the two dials and when i scroll the little wheel it shows up Hands free, I click on this, and she can hear me, BUT she hears me through my phone sat on the seat at the side of me, just as you do when you speak to someone on your phone, when I scroll the wheel again to Private, I can hear her through the unit Speaking through the car system.  I have tried it with the speaker icon with a red line through it and also when the icon is just green but it makes no difference, she can still not hear me, but I can hear her.

2) I press the tab on the unit that says "Voice" a list of commands pops up and a womans voice speaks to me telling me what commands i should use vocally, like "Dial" Name. or "Dial"  Number..  she waits to hear my command, I say "Dial Karen" she still listens, I repeat myself. then she hangs up, although the little Mic Icon in the top left hand corner is green whilstt she is listening for my command. I also did the same with the Skoda Help Tab, They ask me to describe the problem, but cannot hear me when i speak.

Its as though the mike is permanently Muted, but I cannot find the answer in the Instruction Manual. I have been onto the Skoda Dealers and explained the problem, they have booked it in to be checked out on the 26th of this month, Its being sorted out under the 30 day or 1000 mile keep or return policy, so they wont be charging me. I would however like to see if i can sort it myself, that would save a lot of messing about and the loss of my car for the day.

Thanks in Advance All.

Hmm it’s likely the whole unit is faulty of this is anything to go by

get it booked in sooner if I were you, because it’ll be costly and they’ll bound to mess you around with “well it’s past 30 days now”

Hi Danoid.

I cant get it booked in any earlier than the 26th as they are full, but the 26th falls within my 30 days as I only got it in Wednesday the 30th October, so they are committed.
