Light bulb sensor

Featured Replies

Hi my light bulb light cones in after about 30 seconds on the engine being switched on. I have checked all bulbs so have put this down to a sensor, not sure how many there are or where they are so any help is much appreciated TIA.

It could still be a bulb that is faulty, it's best to scan it with a OBD reader that will tell you where the problem is rather than just changing things blindly.

Do you have the Maxidot display? That will indicate which bulb is presumed to be faulty.

Common causes are the foglight bulb contacts wearing away the solder on the bulb, I believe a specific uncommon bulb type should be fitted although I may be confused and that is the rear light bulbs, in any case it causes intermittent bulb warnings.

I get one for the front left sidelight bulb and have never traced the cause.

This refers to the daylight driving light bulbs which are adjacent to the fog lights on some models, such as the Elegance trim level.

I have had intermttent bulb warnings on the number plate illumination. Replacing both the bulbs fixed it.

Thanks for the correction, that was indeed what I experienced on the MK2 Octavia.

The Yeti threw yet another LH sidelight warning this evening.
