Blues radio wiring and disassembly

Featured Replies

Hey!

I'm the owner of a 2015 Skoda Fabia Active (Manual gear), the car I bought has the "Blues" radio unit.

I thought of replacing it and the best VFM I found is replacing with a 1 Din radio unit with Bluetooth, only I'd need to do the connections myself.

Does anyone have and can share the wiring diagrams/Disassembly instructions for the Blues radio unit?

Other recommendations are welcomed, I just really lack having built in BT

Thanks

Same car; done that. Choose replacement unit yourself. i used AliExpress replacement.

Difficult getting Fabia radio unit out, bit fiddly.

Well, I mostly lack bluetooth pairing (Currently use an FM-Transmitter but call quality and comfort annoy me) and call quality. Thought about getting an OEM unit but the pricing difference is significant (Need to replace the radio + install glove box unit + CP)

If Bluettoth is all you need then unit for you is Swing, if you would also like to have SmartLink then indeed you need Bolero or Amundsen which includes display unit and glove box unit so is more complicated but still possible - several users have already done it.

If you share VIN then I can provide more details.

Swing sounds great, I'd love to hear more; VIN: TMBEM6NJ5FZ079586

Su you have Blues radio, without DAB, without Bluetooth, part number 6V0 035 872, with AUX port 5Q0 035 724 and USB port 5Q0 035 726 B.  The cheapest unit for you shoudl be SWING part number 6V0 035 871. You will also need a microphone part number 3Q0 035 711 B and harness to connect it to SWING. Upon installatiopn, component protection must be removed either by Skoda delaer or someone who has ODIS ONLINE account for Skoda and unit must be parametrized (coding and adaptations) to match your car's equipment.

Hi

I'm thinking about doing something very similar and I can see pab567 is experienced in this area so I want to ask. I just bought Skoda Rapid 2017 1.4 with automatic tran.

I was thinking about adding CarPlay to it as it has this Blues system without BT. I decided on buying this: https://www.carpodgo.com/products/t3pro but then I thought.. what if I could buy original Skoda system that has CarPlay and I found this: https://www.olx.pl/d/oferta/radio-wyswietlacz-panel-multimedia-skoda-rapid-2012-2017-5ja919604b-CID5-ID11Lidm.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqO25HjejO8UU0xa7G3RPO1Ph2QW8q2_Mp8HT-EDk92_P80qJN1

Now my questions is: can I actually pull this off meaning I will buy original Skoda system, install it in my car and get buttons on the steering wheel working with it as well as microphone (I need to get it somehow) or should I just pick easy route and buy "CarPlay add-on" like this CarpodGo T3

Regards from Poland
