  1. Have 2 OEM numbers for replacement door lock: 3D2837016 and 3D1837016A (3D1837016AB 3D1837016 3D1837016AP 3D1837016AC - ????) Does anyone know which is correct? Thanks.
  2. Grok says: "A ridge at the edge of a car disc brake rotor typically indicates wear, but it’s not always a sign that the disc needs immediate replacement. This ridge, often called a "lip," forms because the brake pads wear down the rotor’s friction surface over time, while the outer edge (where the pads don’t contact) remains unworn, creating a raised lip.'
  3. My Octavia discs will probably need changing. Pads are about 3mm left. My test is finger the disc Mine shows about 1 mm pronounced ridge at edges. Travel distance unknown.
  4. Thanks. Bit hard they are in Melbourne some 300km away. Going to fit catch can so will check intercooler pipes. My turbo K03 has piston ring type seals so excess oil pressure will get by. On blipping throttle get black smoke with puff of white. Apart from oil use car runs well!
  5. I had My Octavia engine rebuilt as cylinder 2 misfired. At 3000 km it now uses @ 1/2 litre oil per 1000 km but I think it's turbo oil overpressure like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSEFwvMB1Tw&t=70s I have an OPR https://tinyurl.com/wahsanxn 40 psi gadget I want to fit in the turbo oil line but don't know source of oil feed or connector required. Has someone got a pictorial in a workshop manual they could link me to? The exhaust blows just like the above link but not as bad. It could still be new rings so thin. It was also run-in using synthetic that may have been a problem that's why I'll try turbo first. Thanks.
  6. Same car; done that. Choose replacement unit yourself. i used AliExpress replacement. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004331715616.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.order_detail_item.2.6bc7f19cunCIY8 Color D7. The plastic bits don't reach but it 'jams' in quit securely. Difficult getting Fabia radio unit out, bit fiddly. Data: Fabia MK3 (2016) Stereo removal instructions - Skoda Fabia Guides - BRISKODA.weblocTemu | Explore the Latest Clothing, Beauty, Home, Jewelry & More.webloc. need 2 if these to get box removed. 7. You obviously use a Ouija board to obtain answers that don't help. With no help from this forum but mucho from VW Forum I measured fuel pressure saying injector problem. Seems you lot more interested in Trump than helping each other! Sad!
  8. Thanks for help. Don't understand 'issue pinned at section top.' 5km - used to change all my cars at 5k miles. Valvoline;Duckhams; mini cooper S tuned half race standards. Even Vincent Comet tuned Grey Flash standards, Castrol R.
  9. Car bought at 109k no problems since then. Oil/filter changed every 5km. At 140k now severe misfire VCDS says cylinder 2. Spark plug 2 very wet. Change all plugs, new oil, 5-30, air and oil filter; plugs. No problem for around 50km then misfire 2 again. Plug cyl 2 very wet again. 'Cook' this plug on gas stove and problem gone for another @ 50km. Garage says comp & leak-down tests no good it's carbon build-up, want to decoke with walnut abrasion. Maybe no 2 injector leak ignored by them. Any suggestions please?
  10. Bit late but my symptoms are similar. Octavia 2012, V2. No problem since 109k 2017, now 140k. Last week misfire. VCDS said cylinder 2. Bought new coil-pack and the plug was hand tight? Very oily. I guessed this caused misfire. Fitted new coil-pack and plug. Hesitant on start but cleared. Went 12km reasonable driving, no problems. Booted in 'S' hammered it, 6km no problem, turned to go back and ECU/Engine lite on, VCDS said cylinder 2. Day after cleared fault, ran 12km, no problem, but no boot it's in Saturday for check. Guess: Loose plug on 2 caused misfire and its taking time to clear oil. Am I being too optimistic? Comments welcome.
  11. VCDS said mine had gone, heater O/C. $611 from Skoda; $511 if in trade!!!!! [Just turning up to say hello at Skoda in Wodonga=$173??] Bought one from AliExpress for $25 including postage. [Fingers crossed!] https://tinyurl.com/ynwzjy3x Searched number on Web upon arrival: 258030129/130 04E 906 got various results from Bosch et-alia, prices ranging $80 Ebay through to $180 SAME number! No problems so far?? Similarly, Octavia Key broke. Took apart, PCB ok so got case $30 and repaired. Told key needs 4 digit 'Secret' number no one knows, to program, bought a VAG interrogator $30 just in case. At a guess Skoda would have charged > $500. Still like my Fabia and wifey's Octavia!
  12. You need the 'Secret Key 'Number' stored in dash or ECU I think. Then VCDS can program keys. AliExpress has a range of keys but hard to get the correct one. I Bought a shell from https://fasterautokeys.com/ in USA as I only had to transfer the pcb+blade from a key that the buttons failed on. There's helpful data here but I haven't got links.
  13. https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5ja071497czg6-aluminium-rim-17-savio-skoda-33489.html Interesting data to confuse? https://7zap.com/en/catalog/cars/Skoda/
