UK spec VRS not as good as EU

Featured Replies

Hi All,

So I got a new 4.5 Estate VRS with just the Velvet Red paint, however I was expecting it to have the horned rear headrests for rear passangers to sleep better (stops neck ache) and the eletric parcel shelf which are standard on EU and UK broucher  even mentions it as standard equipment. This isnt the case we get poor head rests with no support and bog standard parcel shelf.

So buyers be aware we don't get as good as EU brothers get.

Aww bum, kids were looking forward to the horned headrests. A bit of a rhetorical question, but why bother with a brochure? I also have one on order and this is my 4th vRS in a row, but there always seems to be stuff listed and not included.

I understand your frustration about your car lacking things which the brochure indicates is standard equipment but what makes you think that an EU customer would have a different experience?

Seems the FL model may have a few minor deletions - no touch lock buttons on the rear doors, now the absence of horned rear headrests? Even my '23 Style model has the latter, doesn't need to be a VRS to get those. But then there's always been the matter of regional differences in equipment levels too.

Hello

I previously had a mk4 vRS and now have the mk4.5 vRS. Both are EU cars (Estonia) and both do not have the horned headrests on rear seats. It's definitely not part of the standard equipment and I'm pretty sure I saw that as an option on the brochure when I was configuring the mk4.5 (but as it's an Estate only option, I couldn't choose that).

However, looking myself as well at the UK brochure here: https://www.skoda.co.uk/discover/download-a-brochure

  • The horned headrests don't seem to be mentioned at all (not even an option?)
  • The electric sliding parcel shelf should be standard on the vRS estate indeed. What does the dealer say about this then?

Yes you can’t go off the brochure which showcases the range and have to look at the spec sheet for your market. For example in NZ KESSY is on all doors, the fancy rear headrests are part of an optional package.
