This is the part that I used for my 2020 vRS hatch -

You can see all the applicable part numbers at the top - this should work with every Mk3 Octavia hatch.

 

My car shouldn't be old enough that the struts were gone, however I suppose from the weight of such a big lid they were a bit tired. 

Cheers! Not cheap are they, mine are terrible, it’s a heavy thing that boot lid isn’t it.

Fitting it is ideally a two man job, but can be done with one person. There's plenty of videos about out there.

 

Despite being brand new, my struts frequently get a bit stuck halfway open or something. It's a bit annoying, but I loathe to get those assisted ones, as I'm wary of the load they put on the hinge.
