Citigo heated wing mirror unit

Featured Replies

Just purchased used Citigo which needed a complete wing mirror unit replaced on passenger side, done by local body shop. Was replaced with one which was perfect colour, silver same as car, electrically adjustable but non heated ( the old damaged one was heated, glass was broken and previous owner added stick on glass on top of the broken glass so didn’t have the tell take marks of the heated glass). Garage had trouble sourcing a complete replacement and got one off e bay which as said was silver…perfect match.
Happy as no paint spray job needed  but would have preferred it heated.  Can the glass be removed and changed to the heated one. At the moment only heated mirror on drivers side….if not possible may live with it?

thanks

Yes. So long as the wiring is still in the housing, just buy the right mirror, pull off all the old stuff, connect and clip on new mirror. Sounds like the body shop was sloppy to me.

It’s a complete new mirror unit/housing  that was fitted electric only. Was hoping the wires for heated would be there……I know it’s a long shot.

Point is, it's just the mirror glass that's heated. If you had working heating mirrors before, the wiring for them will exist, at least to the door,  but you may need to use the original wiring tail from the old mirror assembly to hook it up, if the new mirror does not include a means to connect. Frankly, take the car back to the body shop, and point out they only did half a job.... If they cause problems, post the company name, so others can avoid them!
