2010 Octavia Scout 1.8tsi ~80k miles, 12 months MOT, service history, 2 keys - £2750

(Apologies better pictures to follow if it stops raining)

Sadly selling my Black Scout, I’ve had this car since 2013 and it has been a brilliant family car for the last 11 years but I have decided to go Electric and have an Enyaq on the way.

Officially I am the 3rd owner, previous 2 owners were in the same family (have the old V5 showing same surname and address).

Car has been well loved by us and has an extensive service history (see below inc Haldex oil changes). Its got a full years MOT, has just been serviced. It had new front discs and pads just over 2000 miles ago.

It has a detachable towbar (which has only been used for a bike rack and a very small camping trailer) as well as aero roof bars.

2 remote keys.

Condition is generally good, interior is great with no major rips or tears just the usual signs of wear you would expect and a slightly squished drivers bolster). I’ve just put in some new mats (as the factory supply ones had just come to the end of their life).

Exterior doesn’t have any major dents (just a couple of trolley type dents in the roof where I think the previous owner must have knocked it with bike racks or something, see pictures), but the passenger side has some light surface scratches where its got a bit too close to the bushes on country roads. There is a small paint chip on the boot lid, and some lacquer peel on the front bumper and a small patch on the bonnet. The grey trim I have tried to refresh best I can but it is looking a bit faded in places. From 10 feet the car looks great, up close it’s a bit easier to see the blemishes but it is a 14 year old car and I have priced it accordingly. Someone with time and skills should be able to make it look loads better with some time and effort.

All 4 wheels were refurbished and powder coated a few years back, sadly one has a scratch and one has a bit of a corrosion spot around the valve but they are generally nice and tidy.

It is a 1.8tsi so it does burn a little bit of oil. Depending on how you drive it it uses about 1l per 1000miles. Within Skoda norms, its always burnt about this amount of oil since I purchased it, and it doesn’t seem to have got worse in the last 65k miles. I run it on shell helix 10-40w so its always readily available in case you need to top up, it does have a low oil light when it gets to the low level on the dipstick which means you can’t accidently run it dry without lots of warning! (which I of course never have).

Its been exceedingly reliable and only work outside of regular servicing has been a new thermostat housing and water pump in Nov-2023 which I believe is quite common on these (it didn’t overheat, I spotted it leaking). It also needed a new front OS caliper when it seized earlier this year (would seem my local garage didn’t grease the sliders when they replaced the pads a few months before, Grrr….).

Just passed it MOT with no advisories and I think it only failed once for play in a drop link that was replaced immediately in 2019. Only advisories previously were for rusty rear discs which were replaced in 2022 (and were still the factory fitted items when replaced).

Car has never been driven off road, never thrashed (the front pads lasted over 70k miles and the current tyres have done over 35k!)

Car is located in Hemel Hempstead and is available immediately, price is firm at £2750 as its already priced cheaply for a mk2 facelift Scout.

HPI and finance clear. Tax is £320 a year (or it was last year) and it is ULEZ compliant.

I do have a set of winter wheels that could be included for an additional cost if required. (Its amazing in the snow with winter tyres on!)

Side note on this, just wondering what roof rack is on the car, have an Octavia with similar roof bars (raised not flush), finding it difficult to find racks for raised bars. TIA

They are "PRS44 - Whispbar Aero-X roof rail bars" according to the receipt but that was 10 years ago when I got them. They were awesome, went on and stayed on for 10 years with no issues.
