Faulty electric drivers seat

Featured Replies

Hi all, hoping to be pointed in the right direction. Have searched the forums but cant find any threads with the same issue I am having.

I have a 2018 Superb Sportline Plus which has the electrically adjustable drivers seat with memory function.

My wife went into the car today and tried to adjust the seat (using the buttons rather than memory as it has never been set up for her) and found that the rear seat base adjustment would not work to raise the seat.

All other functions seem to work fine - moving entire seat back/forward, tilting backrest both ways, lowering/raising front of seat base, lowering the rear of the seat base.

You can obviously hear the electric click of the relay when you use all of the different functions but not when trying to raise the rear of the base.

I have fiddled about with the various controls and I did manage to get it to move so it doesn't appear like it is completely dead but it soon stopped again.

Is anyone able to give any advice whatsoever on where to start with this issue? I am unsure whether this is likely to be an issue with a motor (presuming there are multiple for each movement?), a relay/fuse or perhaps even the buttons themselves?

I have had a look under the seat and don't see any obvious disconnections etc but in all honesty, there is some amount of wiring etc under there and I don't know where to start!

Any pointers would be appreciated - very reluctant to blindly go into an auto electrician/dealer without a clue. Unsure if there is any reset options available as a first port of call

Hopefully I have explained what the issue is but if not, please let me know and I'll do my best to reword things in the hope someone can help!

Thanks.
