Octavia DSG gearbox issuse

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have an Octy 2.0 ltr diesel on a 20 plate ( 4.5 years old) with 61k on the clock. The gearbox started giving problems and the fault codes indicate clutch faults ( clutch 1). The car stuck in first gear and we luckily managed to get it to a local garage round the corner. ( nearest Skoda dealer is 20 miles away) he ran a diagnosics and it revealed fault codes. I phoned my dealer to enquire what to do and they told me I'd have to bring it up. Tow truck and £100 later it arrived there last Friday. They ran a diagnostic and found no faults ( apparently they had been wiped by the previous check) but I have the print out of the report with the codes on it. As, I believe, this is a common and known fault, I enquired about goodwill from Skoda at my dealership. They told me they would contact Skoda which they did. Skoda would not accept the independent garages fault report. Now they have driven the car for 30 miles and it has behaved impeccably. So, although I know there is a major gearbox fault they are saying there is nothing wrong with the car. And even though I have proof of the fault codes, are now saying the will not supply the parts so it can be repaired without their own diagnostic displaying the relevant fault codes. I, and even the garage agrees that the gearbox will fail. Skoda are at present, refusing to supply the parts for repair even though  I have said I will pay for the repair. IM FUMING.
