Brake bleeding sequence?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Job for the weekend... Brake fluid change.  I have always bled the brake caliper furthest from the master cylinder, then a sequence ending in the closest to the m/cyl. O

I've had a look in the good ol' trusted Haynes manual and they are saying VAG vehicles are done front to back (opposite)

Anyone know anything definitive for this question?

It's a 2011 octavia II.

Thanks!

Marc

This is what i found.

Bleeding sequence

1 -Front left brake caliper

2 -Front right brake caliper

3 -Rear left brake caliper

4 -Rear right brake caliper

As above if you let the fluid levels drop too low then you need VCDS/Diagnostics to put the ABS into "service" mode to properly bleed the air out.

Thanks for that, same sequence as the Haynes manual.  I'll have a look at the pipes underneath, see how they're routed 👍
