Knocking noise

Featured Replies

Just had my vrs for 4months now. Bought it brand new and recently i've started to hear a knocking noise coming from the passengers side near to the wheel  . It only mainly happens when i drive on roads with pot holes doing 20-40mph , when im on smooth roads doing 60-70mph i dont get the noise. Anyone know what it could be. Gonna see what its like for another week then take it down the garage to get sorted.

Another problem i dont know if its a common fault but my clutch seems to be clicking when i lift it up. Think it might be the springs?

Any replies would be grateful :)

Mine also has that strange knock. I figured it might be the exhaust knocking on the under side of the car or something similar?? Could be totally wrong. I too am going to go back to my dealer and ask them what it could be?

mine knocks on the n/s/f also , i've never found out exactly where the noise comes from , never found any play in any part of the suspension , the only thing that i did move that may have made a difference is the clutch flexi-pipe which iirc was tapping on the chassis leg over speed bumps

I shall check imine and see if it stops. Cheers Mate:thumbup:

I had this and it's now fixed.

Ask your dealer to contact Skoda technical, I believe the technical bulletin is fairly new. Basically it's the N/S gearbox mount that creates the bang/slap/knock noise. The fix is to apply some silcon gease (I think) between the console mount and and gearbox er. mount. My local dealer did this last friday and 500 miles later the fault hasn't returned.

I've seen the technical document so it definately exists!

As for the clutch I think that's a known issue, again dealer can confirm.
