Media player doesn’t resume playing the same that was playing on exit

Featured Replies

Anyone else using a usb stick as a music source? I don’t use streaming services, no point as I own over 1200 cds all of which I have ripped to flac format. I have a Samsung 256Gb usb-c memory stick filled with a selection of tracks from my collection.

I expected that if I exit the car with a track playing from the usb stick then when I re-enter the car and turn on the ignition the same track would resume playing from where it left off but that is not the case. Instead the system plays a random music track located on my iPhone rather than resuming the track from the usb stick! I have to manually go through the process of navigating the media player menus to select the track that was playing from the usb stick.
It’s really annoying me, very disappointing…

Anyone having the same problem?

Is there a way of reporting bugs to ŠKODA ?

It's probably not a bug. I'm also struggling with this. Especially when the car keeps bullying me with disableing scrolling for a few seconds every now and then.

While sitting in the car playing around with some settings the infotainment system crashed and rebooted itself, came back on after about 20s.

Now the resume function on the media player works fine! 🤷🏼

I’ll see how long it lasts…

Well it didn’t last long!

Back to the same problem again but I’ve been experimenting with the usb contents and the playlist formats. Found out it’s only when playing music from a playlist on the usb stick AND my mobile is in the car that the problem occurs. If I play an album by selecting it from the media players own menus then the resume function works fine. Resuming from a playlist works fine as long as my mobile isn’t anywhere near the car.

I tried to report the to Škoda Customer Services but just got a stock reply to take the car back to the dealers for a diagnostic check, they won’t take a customers word for it. So obviously a software fault but Škoda have no system in place for customers to report bugs…

Have you checked your mobile phone AA settings to uncheck resume media? (Start music automatically)

Maybe if you turn it off it will work.

Or disabling Media playback in BT.

Maybe when the car connects to BT device it reverts last resume state to the phone and if nothing is played, you loose resume data on other sources.

Anyway it's a VAG infotainment, don't expect such small but usefull features to work.

They are billions euros worth behemoth but hiring top of the line programmers that would actually develop working system for the car? That would be too easy in Germany.
