I have just taken delivery of a 72 plate Vrs hatch coming from a very well equipped 66 plate Vrs. 
I am very impressed by the new technology and spec on the mk4. 
The reason for this post is to find out about retrofitting a passenger auto dim exterior mirror as the drivers one looks to be auto dim but will find out when I drive at night. 
the other thing is confirming what I need for this retrofit as well. 
Furthermore I see members fitting the blind spot detection so any info on that would be greatly appreciated. 
I am still finding my way around the technology but all in all the car is great and I am glad I jumped 6 years younger.

hello,

i am trying to retrofit BSD to my 2023 Octavia. I bought brand new radars with INDEX H (2Q0907685H)
I can't remove the CP (component Protection) and to set those to my car.

Rumor has it that from 2025 things will be more difficult for retrofits even with new materials.

Personally I was not able to do it, even though I connected Online to the SKODA servers.

What is your opinion?

SFD2 adds complexity but where there's a will there's a way

What error message did the dealer/specialist get when trying to remove CP? If you/they used stolen logins with cracked ODIS then that's the issue

The expert has official accounts and tools, that's for sure.

Those radars are brand new.

I have screenshots.

This is what ODIS saw:

And that's the mistake. It's in Greek, I'm translating it into English.

Software configuration (encoding, adjustment/calibration, parameterization) could not be calculated. Check if a car-compatible control unit or spare part is fitted. If fault continues to occur contact the Support department for support.

That's never going to work as the modules weren't fitted to the car at the factory and they're not part of an official retrofit.. They're trying to run replace/adapt module..

Remove component protection and then manually configure using a different tool

we are tried different methods. One of those was the replace module.

So you advice is to remove the Component Protection with the online ODIS connection.

Than configure manually the module (offline) and with another tool.

Those radars, according to ETKA, are 1st-order equipment on this particular car. However, radars with INDEX D and G also appear, would the process be easier with such codes (which I think do not have the SFD 2 lock?

I could buy used ones like that if it is certain that the job can be done.
