How to work the Massage function?

Featured Replies

Hi -

I am back in the Superb fold having moving away to a BMW 520d for 8 years. I took delivery of my new Superb TSI SEL last month, but still not done more than 2 miles or spent more than 15 minutes in the car due to work being busy (we've just been using my wife's Yeti). So, this is a bit of a lazy post. In the one journey I have done, my daughter was asking how to work the massage seat function. I looked in the hardback manual but it unhelpfully says to look online. I looked online and I can't find the information (the Skoda website manual gives an error). The one manual I did find pointed to a button at the side of the seat, but I only have 4 buttons (memory and 1/2/3). Is the massage function operated through the control panel? I haven't got round to looking into this yet.

Thanks so much,

Andrew

I was posted a video by my dealership to introduce me to my new car which I'm collecting tomorrow.

In this screenshot from that video she has her finger on the button to turn on/off the massage function. I hope this helps.

The type and frequency of massage can be selected in the infotainment.

Hi BillyJim,

Thanks so much for that. Ha, I didn't even look side-on, I only looked down, so obvious now you've said it (and thankfully the button is there!). I'm looking forward to getting out in it in the coming weeks (now work less busy) and figuring it out - fingers crossed I don't experience any of the software gremlins.

Thanks again,

Andrew

You can select different massage programs in seat on the infotainment system.

As above, you can use the button on the side which turns the massage on - it selects the last used massage type. To change intensity, massage type and duration you can access it through the "Seats" menu in the infotainment screen

Not sure about the SEL but the L&K has multiple different massage modes. When friends get in the passenger seat for the first time if told the seat massages they switch it on using that central button. Then they stay silent for about ten minutes with the occasional squeak of joy!

SEL/LK/Sportline has advanced massage system with multiple modes.

SE has basic lumbar "massage" function.

Thanks everyone, I'll look into the Seat massage options next time I'm in.

On a side note, I took the car out today for its first drive. Part way through my journey the infotainment system turned off, and I assumed the software gremlins had visited me. The system remained off as I started my return journey (i.e. after a long gap of not driving). But, I then discovered that I must have hit the Off button right underneath the central part of the display - I hadn't even noticed it there. So, thankfully no gremlins as yet. It does seem an odd place to put the off switch, and also odd that it doesn't reset when you turn the engine on again. But, at least I now know, lesson learned.
