Karoq 1.5 SEL Cam belt or chain

Featured Replies

Still pondering on which car to swap our trusty Toyota for.

Can someone tell me; does the Skoda Karoq 1.5 SEL have a cam belt ( wet or dry) or a chain.

Any problems with either type?

Thanks

It'll be a dry cam belt.

Thanks for the info. From the timing belt link you sent, it's confusing when the contributors quote model years. Are they going by when the car was registered or is there a clue provided by looking at the engine numbers as to when they were built.

What is relevant is we are talking 1.5 TSI ACT,s regardless of engine code or year.

2023 the VW Group / Skoda UK changed from their previous Advice, Schedule, Guidelines or Specification from the @ 5 years / 50,000 miles.

As to is going over 10 years or 120,000 might not be Simply Clever before changing.

They are not caring what happens out of warranty.
