Fresh air fan stuck on

The fresh air fan (internal climate control fan) is stuck blowing air out into the cabin on maximum flow. Even when I turn off the engine, lock the car, and leave it for a few minutes, the fan is still running.

I have removed the fresh air control unit fuse, which has stopped the fan and hopefully stopped the battery draining over night.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the issue?
