Hi fellow Skoda owners,

Ive just picked up my first Skoda a Mk 3 Octavia Scout 2015 TDI which I am absolutely head over heels with. Having a quick browse round the forum this place looks like its invaluable. Only been a member a few days and Ive already got a firmware upgrade, Many thanks Pab!

Hi everyone, I’m a relatively new member here but I’ve been maintaining my 2004 Skoda Octavia Mk2 (1.9 TDI PD) as a "time capsule" with only 21,000 miles. It’s my only car, used for social/domestic/pleasure, and I’m looking for some advice on insuring it as an enthusiast/modern classic. I have a 2024 Octavia Vrs diesel. Last year I was in France approaching one of the free ferries over the river Seine, downstream of Rouen. I took a wrong turn and had to reverse, then go slowly forward to get to the correct lane. At only about 2 or 3 mph the car came to a sudden violent stop accompanied by a bang. I thought I had hit a hidden obstruction and got out to look. Absolutely nothing, the car had just autonomously and violently braked to a stop with nothing in front of it. Tonight,
