Firmware 6276 source

Featured Replies

Hi, would anyone have an idea where I could source a reliable copy of 6276 firmware to fix boot loop issue?

I've seen some advertised on Ebay but not sure if these are genuine.

Do I need to source map software also if I manage to flash firmware? If so any ideas where?

Thanks in advance.

Link sent on PM. AFter reflashing you will need to load maps but unfortunately I can't help you with this.

@pab567 Hey man, can you pass this 6276 i was searching the whole internet and very sketchy forums till i found this one. I was able to download one .iso for this but i think its corrupted, as when burned in DVD i got error on car

Burn on CD, not DVD

Same, did it on CD-R which has 700MB of space and the file is 692 MBs so some programs could not even Burn the file to the disk...
Maybe do you have the file?

@pab567 Hey mate. Trying to upgrade the firmware on my 2012 Skoda Superb (langage is stuck on German and I'm unable to select any other). Would you be able to send me a copy of that firmware for me to try update too? Thanks heaps.
Also is it possible to do so on a USB drive? I have the adaptor cable.

You have to burn the image from the file, not the file itself.

@jimbocos I need part number and original SW version, pls send the picture of a label from the upper housing of your Columbus. USB and SD can't be used.

Hi, any chance you can send me a link for the firmware please?

Hey @pab567 sorry about the delay. Here’s an image of the top of the unit:

Thanks heaps @pab567
So just burn the whole .iso file to a CD?
Just realised I only have a 700mb one so will need to get an 800mb cd.

You need to burn it as an image, not just placing the file on CD. 700MB CD-R is enough

Thanks mate. Managed to burn the .iso image to CD fine. Got half way through the update (44%) and threw an 'swl error' that looked fairly generic. I tried again, and it got to the same point, but this time said 'Error - HDD - Filesize mismatch'. It asked for a power cycle by pressing certain buttons which I did.

I also tried burning the image again on a different CD at the slowest speed I could but now the infotainment system doesn't seem to even recognise the disc when I insert it now.

Might be time for an aftermarket head unit upgrade 😥

I bet you have the problem with HDD. You can try to get another HDD, have it replaced and then restart firmware upgrade. It's IDE (PATA) HDD/SSD, 2.5" size.

Hmm seems PATA drives aren’t easy to find in my area. Maybe getting a bit too hard just to get this unit working haha. What about updating the firmware via DVD instead of CD. Any chance that could make a difference?

Also do you know if the way it’s burned can affect how it’s read such as the speed or something like that?

There is no difference in the way SW update is made between DVD and CD but as many old lasers have issues with reading burned DVD I definiteley recommend to use CD-R.

Use lowest available burning speed.

Re-burned at slowest speed on a new CD-R and worked a treat. Also used a dedicated Burning application rather than Disk Utility. Now I can select different languages properly. Thanks heaps for your help!
