Limit oil pressure in turbo.

Featured Replies

I had My Octavia engine rebuilt as cylinder 2 misfired. At 3000 km it now uses @ 1/2 litre oil per 1000 km but I think it's turbo oil overpressure like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSEFwvMB1Tw&t=70s

I have an OPR https://tinyurl.com/wahsanxn 40 psi gadget I want to fit in the turbo oil line but don't know source of oil feed or connector required. Has someone got a pictorial in a workshop manual they could link me to?

The exhaust blows just like the above link but not as bad. It could still be new rings so thin. It was also run-in using synthetic that may have been a problem that's why I'll try turbo first.

Thanks.

I would ask who ever reconditioned engine to check it over. Check the intercooler plus pipes as well. Mine started using oil but no leaks or smoke from exhaust when driving or oil in coolant but intercooler pipes were full. Turbo seals were failing and dumping it there. Only smoked slightly after idling for a while then cleared when driving.

Thanks. Bit hard they are in Melbourne some 300km away. Going to fit catch can so will check intercooler pipes. My turbo K03 has piston ring type seals so excess oil pressure will get by. On blipping throttle get black smoke with puff of white. Apart from oil use car runs well!
