Which extended warrenty

Featured Replies

Any recoomendations for which ones are good.

So far i have only looked at the AA one with breakdown (V expensive) and WarrentyDirect which seems pretty good.

WarrantyDirect seem to be the ones of choice for "premium" brand cars, but no idea whether they're good for others. The extended warranties I've looked at always have silly exclusions (like it won't cover the engine or gearbox!) so I end up putting money aside each month instead. Sometimes it pays off (Mondeo), sometimes it doesn't (Fabia)....

FWIW, have you tried approaching your local Skoda dealer about an extended warranty? They may be able to do you a good deal on a comprehensive one :D

Was thinking abou the dealer chris, I would put money acside, but if something liek a gearbox went I couldn't afford to get the car back on the road i don't think.

WarrentyDirect seem bleeding good and don't have a wear and tear exclusion as long as vehicle is serviced correctly at a VAT reg garage.(eg are not gits)

I took out a Warranty Direct Gold one at the end of the third year but have now changed to the Elita Used Vehicle Warranty which is available through a Skoda dealer. The latter is more expensive but in my opinion offers better cover. There is also a cheaper Elita warranty offering a lower level of cover. But as with all insurance, you need to look carefully at what is covered before deciding which best meets your needs.

An example - Warranty Direct doesn't cover the Haldex nor the Haldex ECU, both expensive components.
