Car (2020 Octavia 245 bhp VRS) went into my local Skoda dealership for a DSG service (oil and filter change).

Got the car back this afternoon only to find that now there is a whining noise from the gearbox (car has stayed with dealer so they can diagnose why the whine is occurring).

When I drove the car from the dealership it was in automatic driving mode and the whine was there up to 15 mph, car never went over 15mph because I returned it to the dealership within 2 minutes of picking the car up after the DSG service.

Is there a particular reason why a DSG service would cause the whining noise?

 

Hi. 2017 (bought used) does the same, very subtle whining is present. As a known problem(I guess it is one), there's Exhaust gas control system warning light when ignition is on and goes away when driving.

@jamie_52 Quite possibly the refill of the oil was done wrong.

When a competent tech redoes that they will know.

Was the Filter getting replaced or did they say that was not til the 2nd service of a DQ381.

How many miles has the car done, and how much were they charging for the DQ381 DSG Service?

Was the VAQ diff serviced @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or at anytime.

No filter is listed on the invoice but the girl on reception says the filter has been replaced

47800 miles, cost was £329.

Was the VAQ diff serviced @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or at anytime.

It has never been serviced, that’s next on my list of things to get done.

I hope the Master Tech is going to be checking it out and doing the service again themselves if needed.

Odd the Filter not listed, why would it not be listed but she knows it is done. Well i suppose she asked.

Not good for Service & Maintenance History if they do not list parts / consumables used.
