Speed limit warning.

Featured Replies

Usually I just leave the speed limit warning alone as it’s a reasonably gentle reminder if I wander over the current speed limit. On a recent motorway trip I switched it off in order to have the flexibility to accelerate in to a space when overtaking with lots of traffic in the offside lane. After stopping and restarting the speed limit warning re-set itself, but then sounded a warning every time the speed limit changed!! Never did that before. Over the course of the weekend switched the system off again then when it reset it no longer sounded a warning when the speed limits changed. Did change the digital dash configuration too, but would this have any effect?

The speed limiter and the speed limit warning are two different systems.

You can enable the speed limiter so that you do not exceed the speed you set.

The speed limit warning sounds a chime once you exceed the posted speed limit. It also sounds a (different) tone when the speed limit changes.

Both of these settings are user configurable via the digital dash controls.

Different car but the speed limit change subtle beep has probably already saved me from a speed awareness course. It beeped and I thought ????, I'd passed through an obscured speed limit sign, however almost immediately around a corner just after the change a speed van was in wait! Fortunately the car had already made me aware - phew.
