H22 Buzzer Location

Featured Replies

Hi All

My rear (only fitted) parking proximity system isn't working.

VCDS says the buzzer is duff.

However I just can't find it!

I've looked behind the instrument cluster and I can see the two holes on the right where a lot of people say it's fitted - but it's not there!

I've removed the glove box (that's a fun job getting to the screw behind the catch) because other people have said it's somewhere there - but I can't see it!

Amazingly my Skoda dealer has said that they'll give me a few minutes time with a technician to look for it but unless he's fitted one in this vintage and type I'm not sure he'll be able to help.

Any other bright ideas or preferably definitive information please?

Behind the dash you will only find the buzzer for the front sensors, which you do not have.

The buzzer for the rear sensors is located in the right rear of the vehicle, most likely somewhere near the control module for those sensors, which is behind the right upholstery of the luggage compartment.

Thanks, I'll have a look there.

I was convinced that the sound came from the front - but to be fair it's been a couple of years now since it stopped working.

@mdauncey Just checked Elsawin.

H22 is the FRONT buzzer, and is located behind the dashboard.

The rear buzzer is called H15, and according to Elsawin it is located on the rear ceiling, near the shark antenna. So I was wrong, it's not near the control module in the boot.

Edit: confirmed here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/497949-access-rear-park-sensor-module/#findComment-5588456

Thanks Andre

I've seen the buzzer pulled out from that position on a saloon car but got the impression that estates were different.

I looked in the top right corner but didn't see any wires, but I'll have a more thorough look.

Unfortunately I was right about the dealer, whilst they did let a technician come out he was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard!

First off he tried to tell me that my car must have an aftermarket system - despite that being checked as wrong by them last week after checking the spec sheets.

Then he said there wasn't a separate buzzer but the sound came through loudspeakers!

Then he openly admitted that he had no idea where it would be and all they could offer was £140 an hour plus VAT to rummage around to see what they could find!!

I really think that main dealers ought to know where stuff is fitted on any car - it might mean they have to buy a workshop manual subscription of course!

@mdauncey
This movie shows the buzzer location and how to repair it:

Location in the estate should be the same.

Yes, I've seen this video.

I thought it was saloon only, but I can look.

Haven't had much time available recently - been decorating!!
