65 Reg Octavia estate

All my other windows work ok but on the driver's door window I have to hold down the button until the window is fully open. A quick press of the button closes it just fine but opening is the problem.

There's no info in the manual that helps

I can't help thinking I've had this problem before and somehow solved the problem but I can't remember how.

My online research suggested holding the button down until it opened fully and continue holding for a few seconds, then closing the window by holding the button and keeping it held for a few seconds again after it's closed, but that hasn't worked despite many attempts with different lengths of holding it.

One touch window needs resetting - have you had the battery changed?

IIRC you need to start with it up, put it down and hold it for ten seconds, then release and put it up, holding at the top for ten seconds. Something like that anyway.

Sometimes on the MQB platform, which includes the Octavia 3, this process needs to be repeated up to 5 times to reset the one touch.

Thanks both for those responses, no I've not had the battery disconnected of late.

I've tried what you suggest to no avail so far but I'll try again!

Make sure that the window felt/brushes are clear as much as possible. I've found that if these are clogged with dirt, no only can they scratch the glass, it places additional resistance and can cause the alignment process to silently fail.

Hold button up until window fully closed then 3 times press (up) button.

Curiously, I have just changed my battery (see below), but I didn't need to reset the windows.

It did, however, throw up lots of other errors, as expected.

I had high hopes for this one but sadly it didn't work either!
