DSG fault

Featured Replies

"gearbox in emergency mode - no reverse gear" on dash. After a few Kms my 2019 2L diesel L&K goes into limp mode ie 1st gear.

With OBD11 I can clear fault "position sensor for clutch 2" ID:02. (electrical error), but fault reappears after few Kms again. How to permanently clear this fault?

You can't clear it. It's your mechatronic. There are 2 solenoids that go bad. You have to replace the mechatronic or the solenoids. A mechatronic brand new is approx. 2,000-3,000 euros, and a repair is 700 euros. Been there, done that.

You need new pressure sensor, change both for mind peace.

Hi @ile7 i saw your other post of this topic which was really helpful. I didn't want to start a new thread because there are a few on this issue. My 2018 Superb Sportline with the DQ381 clutch started going into Emergency mode on long drives over 2 hours this weekend. So then i lose all even gears and reverse. Switching the engine on and off resets it all and i get them back. tried to read codes via my OBDII reader but i've got some basic software app and does not seem to read anything.

In your opinion is this just pressure sensors? Called my local VAG specialist who are brilliant and they've said they now have a repair kit for these mechatronic units assuming the fault is that and i'm looking at least £1300 plus hire car for 2-3 weeks because it takes that long to get it shipped in from Germany. What are your thoughts or anyone elses for that matter?

@Kevinmaj Hi, it is faulty clutch position sensor K2 ( even gears + R ), error p1736.

K1 sensor is odd gears.

Find someone who can fix it, way cheaper then new mcu board.

You will need 6L of gearbox oil, new filter and sensors which can be orderd here: https://getriebeshop24.de/products/hydraulikdrucksensor-satz-kupplungspositionssensor-inkl-dichtun

Or give them call since they are from UK

Many thanks @ile7, this is a perfect solution and reasonable considering everything. I like the fact that the company above fixes the issues with the unit and upgrade the poor components as well. I assume they replace the K1/K2 sensor as well?

I spoke to my VAG specialist and they will confirm the error codes next week and were open to suggestions to a fix if proven...just like this really. Otherwise, they told me this repair kit from Germany fitted is at least £1300 and takes 2-3 weeks due to Germany turnaround time, so i'll have no car for that time. Do you have any recommendations for a good app for Android to read a standard OBDII reader as i can't bring back any on the camscanner andriod app i use, it's the free version though.

No need for fitted parts from Germany and paid that price for refurbished mcu board, all you have to do is remove mcu from the car and send to company above, after repair it is plug and play game without programming, otherwise any other mcu new or repaired from Germany request programming which is extra cash waste. Contact the company for details and change both K sensors ( in your case K1 is fine, for now.. can pass away anytime )

Check "rebuild details" from link above!
