How to update a MIB3 ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was used to Columbus MIB 2.5 on my former Superb Mk3 and all updates could be done thanks to a SD card.

Now, on my MY2022 Kodiaq, I undesrtand I have a Columbus MIB3. But I have no SD card slot in the glovebox anymore.

I've already made some online updates directly with the MIB3 menu, BUT :

  • Radio stations logos aren't uptodate. Some are even missing. Online update doesn't fix it.

  • I don't know how to update the GPS map. I've downloaded it from the Skoda portal (with my VIN) on my PC. I was just wandering if I could upload it with a SD card reader and USB-C cable.

  • I don't know if it's possible to upload POI (using the same method)

TIA.

Cheers.

There are MIB3 radio station logo update threads on Briskoda, have a search

If you have active Infotainment Online service, then it updates the maps over internet automatically.

Regarding station logos, I have observed that for some station that initially is missing logo, it is capable to get that info over DAB/RDS signal.

Thanks a lot! I've already done steps #1 to #3. I had in mind to do steps #4 to #5 as I did formerly and I had guessed step #6 was the way to process.

However I'm a bit surprised by step #7, which states: "For proper updating, we recommend to leave the USB Flash Disc plugged into the vehicle connector each time you drive". Really? 😳

I had imagined the complete new map was uploaded and stored on the MIB...

Lucky you! It doesn't on mine... 😕 I'll see if the upload fixes it.

The strange thing is that some radio stations broadcast both in FM and DAB/DAB+. For some of them, I have the logo for FM version, whereas DAB doesn't...

Just saw this reply whilst I was preparing a reply to another map thread. You may have figured this out by now, but the text should include to the effect of 'until the map upload has completed'.

A quick Google search suggests this can take upto a week, perhaps more. You need to check the map/navigation software version to know when it's uploaded apparently.
