Leaking oil separator and delaminating suspension mount

Featured Replies

Service and mot today. Oil separator leaking badly apparently and creak on rear id asked them to look at has found a delaminating mount. Warranty claim submitted for both. Looks like the separator is around £25 on line. Rear mount if it’s just a top mount similar sort of money. Anyone got experience of these issues and if so anybtips? Please xcuse any tyos- recovering from another eye operation

Depending on age, it might just be an O-ring seal that is leaking on the oil separator - but that was an issue with Polo/Ibiza at least back in 2009, so I'd hope that it has become a repeat issue with much newer cars.

Bonded rubber mounts on rear of Citigo I can't comment on, typically it is the rear mounting on the lower front arms that causes problems with many VW Group cars.

Awaiting warranty claim decision but the oil separator doesnt appear to be at all expensive. Ill be interested to know what they regard as the mount. Also when I collected the car they added an mot advisory that the offside front suspension bush is slightly worn???? Didnt reset tge TPMS when new tyres were fitted and whilstvi accept the handbrake will have been disturbed when they did a rear brake service id agreed to but their adjustment has left it absolutely useless(id recently adjusted it and advised them id done so). So tomorrows jobs are to check actual tyre pressures and readjust the handbrake, takes longer to remove the centre armrest than it does to adjust it.
