Silly Wing Mirror Question...

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My first post here. Today while poking around in the garage, I managed to push my drivers wing mirror forwards, i.e. the wrong way to normal. It is a manual folding mirror on a 2018 Octavia vRS. Everything seems fine with it, operation too - can I assume it's designed to fold this way in case it's hit, etc? It seems a bit wobbly, but then again the other side feels similar!

I'm still getting used to having a car with manual folding mirrors!

Yes it will be fine ,i accidently bumped into one of mine and it did no damage all good 👍

Mines moved forward a few times mostly thanks to a car wash when I forget to close the mirrors had no issues what so ever

Yes, they are designed to go both ways. Forward as well as back. Don't try to operate the mirrors when they are forward as that will break the motor but just pop it back to the previous position and close as per normal and all will be good.
