Does my 2010 vrs have an OBD port ? Ive looked under the dash drivers side and dont seem to be able spot it.

Below the pull out cubby hole on Rh side of steering column at bottom of the trim , near door pilar front

With regard to the OBD system would fault codes still be indicated even though the dash warning light not energised ?

Yep.

FYI, clearing a fault code isn't always the best thing. Most of the time, ifd the issue is still present it will come back, but sometimes the car will see it as the 'new normal', which causes issues.

Having not used one before i had result of no fault codes shown with the ignition on would other results shown if engine running ?

best thing to do is run the car until you get the eml back on then scan it without turning off.

many intermittent fault codes are cleared with an ignition cycle, for example, early signs of a failing EGR may put the eml on when coasting after a longish cruise, with a maf error code but... no fault code will be stored, it goes away with ignition key removal.
