Software update message on Columbus screen and a flat battery.

Hi folks,

New member here. I have tried searching but am just getting confused.

This message has appeared on my Columbus screen.

" software download-source activated, searching for SWL image"

No buttons are working and today I have a flat battery🙈

My question is if I can get the correct software update DVD will this fix the problem? I have read about files and burning them to DVD but I'm afraid this is beyond me. Any help appreciated.

Try charging battery or replace it if its past it. I found on my Octavia that weird electronic symptoms/faults were happening due to the battery being past it and low in volts. It might cure the problem.

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about taking my TDI RS Octavia to a track day, but I know that the stock oil cooling is a critical weak point. My question is whether there is an OEM+ solution out there, like using a Crafter oil cooler, or if I should go with an external oil cooler instead. On top of that, how plug-and-play is an external oil cooler setup?

Car is 2013 Skoda Octavia Mk3 1.4 TSI (CHPA), manual, 118k km driven. Today I noticed an A/C-related droning/humming noise that seems louder than before, but I'm having trouble pinpointing the source. Symptoms: Only occurs when A/C is on. Noise stops immediately when I press the A/C button off (cabin fan still on), Most noticeable at idle and especially after revving the engine and letting RPM drop back to idle. Above roughly 1500 rpm I can't really hear it. Cooling performance is excellen

Hi, I'm looking at a 72k mile Skoda Superb 65 plate, hopefully lots of motorway miles. It looks good, my main concerns being the lack of dsg oil change & potential for carbon build up due to direct injection. I currently have a mk6 Golf GTI (EA888 Gen 1) which didn't support dual injection & bit me when the carbon build up & clogged injectors caused a flooded cylinder. I've tried to research this but I'm getting conflicting information around this engine & I wasn't sure if s

I have a 2010 Fabia 1.2 and the ODB port isn't playing ball. Tried 2 different scanners and they both fail to auth with the ECU. I initially thought it might be a bad fuse so I replaced num 22, didnt change a thing. Slipped the port out of the dash and made sure that the wires are fully seated in the connector, no change. I've tried with electrics on and also engine on, doesn't make a difference. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to look for next?
